Kaitlyn & Kurt {love}

I’m kicking off the recent resurrection of my blog with a post that holds special meaning to me…this is my oldest niece! I’ve been photographing her since the days she was a baby and I was a teen with an old film camera strapped around my neck. She’s used to being in front of my lens. :)  And now, she’s getting married!

Kait and Kurt wanted to capture their engagement session back in the town where they lived while Kaitlyn worked on her master’s degree–a town that also stole a huge piece of my niece’s heart–Savannah, GA. What better time for us to fly down and do the session but the weekend of her graduation! It was a perfect time for celebrating!

If there’s one single thing we knew we needed as our backdrop in Savannah, it was the stunning Live Oaks.

Excuse us, beautiful southern mansion, while we turn you into the the most backdrop.

Kaitlyn and Kurt will tie the knot next month on the shoreline of Lake Louise in Banff, Canada, and we can’t wait to capture them amidst that breathtaking scenery! Much love to you, Kait and Kurt!

And a year later…

After a much needed year hiatus, we have returned to this little space! Honestly, I have no idea if anyone reads this blog anymore, but I have much on my heart to share, and well, this is my personal corner of the vast world wide web, so I’ll use it.

This last year has been a journey. It has taken us through the highest mountains and lowest valleys, both literally and figuratively. We’ve had experiences that have changed our family unit, permanently marking us all. It’s an odd feeling, sitting back and staring at your four children, knowing the deep relevance of a period in their life that will not be fully comprehended by them for some time still. The past 13 months was a game changer.

People have asked if we are still doing photography, and the answer is yes. We have been working this past year, but taking it very easy. I will be sharing some of the sessions, weddings, stories, and adventures that have taken place, as well as the new vision I have for this space.

Anyone out there? More coming soon….
